La legalización internacional de documentos públicos entre los países que ratificaron la “Convención de La Haya” o "Hague Convention" (entre ellos Argentina y Estados Unidos), implica que los documentos emitidos en un país firmante del Convenio y que hayan sido certificados por una Apostilla, serán reconocidos en cualquier otro país del Convenio sin necesidad de otro tipo de autenticación.
En el caso de documentos públicos emitidos por autoridades de los Estados Unidos, la Apostilla debe ser solicitada a la autoridad local competente. El Consulado no interviene en estos trámites. A título informativo, la persona interesada puede consultar los siguientes links:

El documento, previamente a la colocación de la apostila, debe poseer previamente el sello del County Clerk donde se emitió.
Luego de colocar el sello del County Clerk, debe dirigirse a alguna de las oficinas Department of State’s -Division of Licensing Services-, para colocar la apostilla:
