The Consulate does not issue or renew driver licenses. It does not intercede or manage any procedure whatsoever before any competent authority for the renewal or issue of driver licenses.

The Consulate does not issue or process the Certificado Nacional de Antecedentes de Tránsito (CENAT) either. For more information about this certificate, click on the following link.

The Consulate may issue certificates related with the driver licenses and rules and regulations from Argentina, when they are require by the local authority. and the translation to English of the information contained in the driver license.

How to obtain it:

• Ask for an appointment by sending an email to cnyor-tramites@mrecic.gov.ar   .
• Present yourself at your appointment with your original Argentine Driver License and your Argentina DNI or valid passport.
• Pay USD 40. ONLY Debit Cards and Money Orders are accepted. (neiher cash and nor checks are accepted).

In case you need a certificate of legality of your Driver License, this must be required to the authority that issued the Driver License. In the case of National Driver License, you may submit your petition on the following link.

Be aware that to drive in the US you must count with a valid Driver License. Most States accept the Argentine Driver License. Nonetheless, some States require an International Driver License. You may consult the requirements for each State on the following link.
