The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship of the Argentine Republic expresses its deep sorrow for the passing of His Holiness Pope Francis, the first Argentine Pontiff.

Pope Francis will be remembered for his tireless work in favor of peace, the promotion of dialogue among peoples and cultures, and his closeness to the most humble. His message of hope and fraternity has left an indelible mark on the international community.

The Argentine Foreign Ministry extends its condolences to his family and to the Catholic Church, as well as to all those who found in Pope Francis a spiritual and moral guide.

At this time of mourning, the Ministry expresses its respect for the legacy of humility, dedication and commitment that characterized his pontificate.
