This certificate confirms the physical existence of and individual. It is issued at the request of the interested party so as to be submitted to the pension and retirement plan administrators in Argentina, in order to receive the corresponding benefit.
It can either be done directly at the consulate or before a notary public with certification by the county clerk, followed by consular verification.
-In Person at the Consulate: the interested party must appear in person at the Consulate, bearing an Argentine government-issued photo ID. This process is free of charge and it usually can be processed in one day (subject to paperwork load on that day).
-Before a Notary Public: the interested party should print and complete the form and then sign it in front of a notary public. Download form . The notary public’s signature must be certified by the county clerk. When all these steps are completed, the form can be mailed to the consulate to obtain a life certificate. Please be aware that the Consulate of Argentina in New York can only issue life certificates in response to forms certified by notary publics from the states of New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine.
