How to apply
Visa documents will have to be submitted in person on the date of the interview. The Visa Department will conduct interviews, requested by appointment from 10.00AM to 12.00 PM. The Consulate will be closed on Argentine and US holidays.
Visa inquiries and appointments MUST be requested and scheduled ONLY through the following email address: cnyor-visas@mrecic.gov.ar
The Consulate strongly encourages applicants to apply at least 45 days in advance of their proposed journey and to refrain from making irrevocable travel plans until the visa has been issued.
STUDENT VISA
"TEMPORARY" STUDENTS ("formal" studies up to 365 days)
Requirements:
- PASSPORT. Submit ORIGINAL and a COPY of the 1st page. The passport must be valid for a minimum of six (6) months from the intended date of entry and have at least two (2) blank pages.
- Visa application form FSV, filled out (preferably in electronic format) and signed by the applicant.
- One (1) current photograph 1 ½ x 1 ½ inches , printed in color, facing the camera, on a white.
- CONSTANCIA DE ESTUDIANTE. Educational institution must upload student’s data at the National Directorate of Migration - Educational institution’s registration number in the RENURE
- Letter from the university mentioning the course in Argentina, including all the student's details in the note.

– Proof of sufficient funds to cover stay and study expenses. Last bank statement

FOR RESIDENCIES LONGER THAN 6 (SIX) MONTHS:
1. CRIMINAL RECORDS:
For those who are over 16 years old, If the type of visa you are applying for requires the presentation of a criminal record certificate and you are applying from the United States of America, you must request this certificate to the Federal Bureau of Investigation https://www.fbi.gov/services/cjis/identity-history-summary-checks and the apostille must be requested from the Department of State: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/records-and-authentications/a...
Aditionally, you must provide a certificate issued by the competent authority of the countries where you have lived for more than 1 year, during the last 3 years. Keep in mind that this certificate should not exceed 3 months from its issue date.
In all cases, criminal record certificates must be apostilled (or legalized by the Argentine Consulate in the case of countries that are not part of The Hague Convention), and translated into Spanish by a professional translator.

UNDERAGE STUDENTS: If the student is a minor, authorization by both parents in order to apply for the visa and appointment of a guardian/tutor in Argentina

The regular visa process takes seven working days. In some cases, it will requiere 30-45 days; you will be advised in these cases.
There is an expedited visa process that takes up to 3 working days and requires the payment of a U$S 40 paid by DEBIT card. You may qualify for an expedited visa service depending on availability. The expedited fee DOES NOT apply in the case of the visas that require a process time of 30-45 days.
All applicants should be aware that the times given are current averages and are subject to sharp seasonal fluctuations.
Visa Collection
Passports with the stamped visa can be picked up in person or using a prepaid, self-addressed return envelope. We ONLY accept FEDEX. It is mandatory to present proof of payment of the shipping. It will be the responsibility of the applicant to follow up on the mail delivery.
The Consulate shall not be responsible for delays or loss of documents incurred by the Post Office once the documentation was delivered or sent by the Consulate.

IMPORTANT: the educational institution must assist and advise the student regarding the documentation and procedures in order to obtain the corresponding visa. It is highly recommended to contact the educational entity before planning the trip.
