Night of Passion and Contemplation: Two Argentine Artists at the Consulate’s Galleries

On October 2, the Consulate General and Promotion Center of Argentina in New York welcomed a full house for the opening of two remarkable exhibitions that brought together the vibrant symbols of Argentina and the meditative depths of abstract art. The evening celebrated the work of Paula Morando and Cloe Galasso, two Argentine artists whose contrasting yet complementary styles offered visitors a journey from passion to reflection.

The program began in the Gallery Room with "De América", a solo exhibition by Paula Morando—an Argentine painter born in América, Buenos Aires, known for exploring national symbols and collective memory. Her series invited guests to reflect on the emblems that shape Argentine identity: the feathers of the hornero and the condor, the ceibo flowers, the Virgin of Luján, the Malvinas Islands and the country’s historic Coat of Arms

Guests were then invited to transition into the Library Room, where "Unfolding", the exhibition by Cloe Galasso was presented—born in Buenos Aires in 1995 and holder of an Master of Design from the University of Palermo, she grew up in an artistic household that nurtured her passion for visual and corporeal expression. Galasso’s latest abstract series, rooted in the principles of Chinese metaphysical philosophy, reflects on the interplay of form and emptiness, light and shadow. Galasso’s works evoke the cycles of transformation—moments of dissolution and renewal—inviting viewers to slow down and contemplate change as a universal experience.

The openings drew a full attendance, underscoring the community’s enthusiasm for Argentine contemporary art and highlighting the Consulate General’s commitment to fostering cultural dialogue, particularly as the Promotion Center of Argentina in New York. Guests lingered in both the Gallery Room and the Library Room, drawn to the conversation between the bold, emblematic works of “De América” and the "Unfolding" meditative abstractions of Galasso’s canvases.

Through these exhibitions, the Consulate General and Promotion Center of Argentina in New York continues to promote Argentine talent abroad and to create spaces where art becomes a bridge—connecting cultures, sparking reflection, and celebrating the richness of shared heritage.

We invite the public to visit both exhibitions at our Consulate General, Monday to Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Admission is free, and all are welcome to experience this dialogue of passion and contemplation.
