INTERVENTION OF COMMERCIAL DOCUMENTS

The consulate certifies:

  • Certificates of Origin from the USA

The consulate applies "Visto Consular":

General Information

Jurisdiction

The Consulate of Argentina in New York can only authenticate chamber of commerce certificates from the states of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont.

Chamber Signature Registration

Chamber representatives signing documents should be previously registered in our records. In order to be registered, the chamber must provide a note with chamber's letterhead stating date, full name, position and signature sample. Fees and Processing Time

The fee for the Certifications and "Vistos" of any commercial document is $200 per document.

Regular processing can take up to 3 business days from the moment we receive the document until it is completed and ready for pick up. If you need the document to be processed in 1 business day please select Rush Processing in the Form with an extra costs of $40. If authenticating the signature of more than one document or requesting rushed processing add the fee amounts and send Only 1(one) money order for the total amount. No Cash or checks accepted.

*Processing time is longer for documents referring to certain products such as hazardous materials, chemicals, explosives, etc. We may contact you if one of your documents will take extra processing time or if we need additional information.

Documents may be delivered and picked up personally, by courier, or by mail to the Consulate of Argentina in New York at 12 West 56th Street, NY, New York, 10019. All documents sent via mail should be addressed to the Commercial Office - Consulate of Argentina.
 

LEGALIZATION OF CERTIFICATES OF ORIGIN FROM USA, FREE SALE, RECONDITIONING, FORMULA, AND END OF USE

The origin of the merchandise has to be from the US.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS

  1. Submit the document bearing name of the representative, signature, and raised or stamped seal of a registered chamber of commerce (no photocopies or faxed copies will be accepted as originals).
  2. Submit 1 (one) copy of the document
  3. Fill out and submit the following FORM
  4. Money order payable to the “Consulate General of Argentina in New York”. If authenticating the signature of more than one document or requesting rushed processing add the fee amounts and send only 1 (one) Money Order for the total amount. No checks or cash.
  5. *Only if sending documents via mail: Submit a pre-paid envelope with your return address or printed label slit with the code bar and confirmation receipt ready to be mailed.

Incompletion of any of these requirements will cause the rejection of the documents

LEGALIZATION OF AFFIDAVITS ON CERTIFICATES OF ORIGIN FROM OTHER COUNTRIES (NOT FROM THE US)

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS

  1. Submit a copy of the original certificate of origin, which has to be issued and chamberized in origin (China, Vietnam, etc.) no further than 1 (one) year prior to being submitted.
  2. Each copy of the Certificate of Origin must have an affidavit in the back which must include:
    • Title: AFFIDAVIT.
    • The number of the Certificate of Origin
    • Importer in Argentina
    • Number, date and description of the merchandize related to both Commercial Invoices (import and export)

• The Affidavit has to be signed by a representative from the company, notarized by Notary Public with the statement “Signed before me on….” and certified by County Clerk or Chamber of Commerce.

Please be aware that the quantity of merchandise to be re-exported to Argentina should not exceed the number of merchandise stated in the original Certificate of Origin.

  1. Submit 1(one) copy of each document and Affidavit
  2. Fill out and submit the following FORM
  3. Money Order payable to the "Consulate General of Argentina in New York". If authenticating the signature of more than one document or requesting rushed processing add the fee amount and send only 1(one)money order for the total amount. No checks or cash.
  4. *Only if sending documents via mail: Submit a pre-paid envelope with your return address and with the code bar and confirmation receipt ready to be mailed.

Incompletion of any of these requirements will cause the rejection of the documents

“VISTO” OF INVOICES, OR OTHER COMMERCIAL DOCUMENTS

Commercial Invoices, letters of representation and other commercial documents may require the intervention of the Consulate. This intervention is called "Visto Consular" and it consists of a signature and stamp by the Consulate confirming ONLY that the document has been submitted to the Consulate.

The “Visto Consular” is not a certification and does not replace The Hague “Apostille”. The “Visto consular” does not attest to the authenticity or content of the document.

Jurisdicción

El Consulado de Argentina en Nueva York sólo autentica certificados de cámaras de comercio de los estados de: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island y Vermont.

Registración de Firmas de las Cámaras de Comercio

Todos los representantes de las cámaras de comercio que firmen documentos deben estar previamente registrados en nuestros registros. Para registrarse, la cámara debe presentar una nota con el membrete de la cámara. La nota debe incluir los siguientes datos del firmante: nombre completo, cargo, y firma. El original de la nota debe enviarse por correo y una copia debe enviarse por e-mail con la Referencia: "Chamber Signature Registration". Pagos y tiempo de procesamiento

Las Certificaciones y Vistos Consulares de cualquier documento comercial tienen un costo de $200 por documento.

El tiempo regular de procesamiento de los documentos es de 3 días hábiles desde el momento en que los recibimos hasta que estén listos para ser retirados. Si necesita que los documentos sean procesados en 1 día hábil, por favor seleccione Rush Processing , con un costo extra de $40 en el formulario. Si solicita la autenticación de más de un documento o si solicita Rush Processing se debe sumar el monto total y enviar 1 sólo money order por el total. No se aceptan cheques o dinero en efectivo.

*El tiempo de procesamiento es más largo para documentos que refieren a ciertos productos peligrosos como químicos, explosivos, etc. En caso de ser necesario nos pondremos en contacto con usted si necesitamos más información o si el tiempo de procesamiento requerido es mayor.

LEGALIZACION DE CERTIFICADOS DE ORIGEN DE LOS ESTADOS UNIDOS, LIBRE VENTA, REACONDICIONAMIENTO, FORMULA, Y DE USO FINAL

El origen de la mercadería debe ser de los Estados Unidos.

REQUISITOS OBLIGATORIOS

  1. Enviar el documento que debe incluir nombre del representante, firma, y sello estampado o de agua de una cámara de comercio que debe estar previamente registrada. No se aceptan fotocopias o copias via fax, el documento debe ser original.
  2. Enviar 1 (una) copia del documento
  3. Completar y enviar el siguiente formulario FORM
  4. Los money orders deben estar a nombre de “Consulate General of Argentina in New York”. Si solicita la autenticación de más de un documento o si solicita Rush Processing se debe sumar el monto total y enviar 1 sólo money order por el total. No se aceptan cheques o dinero en efectivo.
  5. *Sólo si envía documentos por correo: debe enviar un sobre pre-pago con su dirección o una etiqueta impresa con el código de barras y recibo de confirmación listos para ser enviados.

El incumplimiento de cualquiera de estos requisitos causará el rechazo de los documentos

LEGALIZACIÓN DE AFFIDAVITS EN CERTIFICADOS DE ORIGEN DE LUGARES QUE NO SEAN LOS ESTADOS UNIDOS

REQUISITOS OBLIGATORIOS

  1. Enviar una copia del certificado original, que debe estar sellado por una cámara del país originario (China, Vietnam, etc.). Debe tener menos de 1 (un) año de antigüedad.
  2. Cada hoja del Certificado de Origen debe tener un Affidavit en el reverso que debe incluir:
    • Titulo: AFFIDAVIT.
    • El número del Certificado de Origen
    • Importador en Argentina
    • Número, fecha, y descripción de la mercadería relacionada a ambos documentos comerciales (importación y exportación)

                • El Affidavit debe estar firmado por un representante de la compañía, notariado por un notario      público con la leyenda “Signed before me on….” y certificado por el County Clerk o Cámara de             Comercio.

Tenga en cuenta que la cantidad de mercadería a ser re-exportada hacia la Argentina no puede exceder la cantidad de mercadería declarada en el certificado de origen original.

“VISTO COMERCIAL” EN FACTURAS Y OTROS DOCUMENTOS COMERCIALES

Facturas comerciales, cartas de representación y otros documentos comerciales pueden necesitar la intervención del Consulado. Esta intervención se llama "Visto Consular" y consiste en una firma y sello del Consulado confirmando SOLAMENTE que el documento fue enviado al Consulado. El "Visto Consular" no es una certificación y no reemplaza la Apostilla de la Haya. El "Visto Consular" no atestigua la autenticidad de los contenidos del documento.
