Exploring Argentina’s Diversity and Innovation in Wine: Trade Seminar by Wines of Argentina

The Consulate General and Promotion Center of Argentina in New York hosted an exclusive trade seminar organized by Wines of Argentina, dedicated to showcasing the country’s unique identity, diversity, and innovation in the world of wine.

The event, led by Veronica Kathuria, CSW and USA & Canada Area Manager for Wines of Argentina, brought together professionals from across the wine trade for an in-depth exploration of Argentina’s evolving viticultural landscape. Attendees discovered how a new generation of winemakers and agronomists is redefining Argentine wine through creativity, sustainability, and a deep respect for terroir.

Throughout the presentation, participants were guided on a journey across Argentina’s most dynamic regions — from the high-altitude vineyards of Salta to the renowned terroirs of Mendoza and Patagonia — and introduced to a wide range of varietals that express the country’s remarkable diversity.

Adding to the excitement, Copa Airlines offered two lucky attendees the chance to win airline tickets to Mendoza or Salta, announced live at the close of the seminar.

The tasting featured an exceptional lineup of wines from distinguished Argentine wineries, including:

  • Bodega Luigi Bosca | Familia ArizuDe Sangre Malbec DOC 2021, Pinot Noir 2023

This initiative is part of the Consulate General and Promotion Center of Argentina in New York’s ongoing efforts to support trade promotion and strengthen Argentina’s positioning in the U.S. market. The United States remains Argentina’s leading destination for wine exports by value, accounting for roughly 27% of total foreign sales and nearly USD 200 million in 2024.

The Argentine wine industry is not only a symbol of quality and innovation — it is also a strategic driver of regional economies, generating employment, development, and investment opportunities across the provinces that make up the country’s diverse wine regions.

Through trade actions like this seminar, the Consulate reinforces its mission to connect Argentine producers with key stakeholders in the U.S. market, promoting the excellence, diversity, and authenticity that define Argentina’s viticulture.
