End-of-Year Gathering at the Argentine School of Greenwich

The Consulate General and Promotion Center of the Argentine Republic in New York had the great pleasure of participating in the End-of-Year Gathering of the Argentine School of Greenwich, Connecticut (“Escuela CT”). The event brought together school authorities, students, and families from the educational community and provided an opportunity to share the achievements reached during the first months of the current academic year.

In this context, the Consul General, Ambassador Gerardo (Gerry) Díaz Bartolomé, accompanied the opening of the exhibition “Art with Purpose,” an initiative developed by 9th- and 10th-grade students with a strong social focus. The exhibition aims to support an immersive project that will take a group of students to El Alfarcito, in the province of Salta, Argentina, fostering social engagement and strengthening ties with diverse realities across the country.

The gathering also served as a valuable opportunity to further strengthen the bonds within the educational community and to learn about the key priorities and plans for the upcoming academic year, which will be especially meaningful for the institution as it celebrates the graduation of its first cohort of graduates, a milestone in the school’s history. In this context, the presentation of the pedagogical priorities and institutional project was led by Principal Cecilia Caferri and Vice Principal Marcela Specos, who outlined the school’s main guidelines and objectives.

During the event, the Consul General addressed the educational community, highlighting the dedication and commitment of teachers, families, and, most importantly, the students, who add an additional day of classes on Saturdays to their weekly schedules to complement their academic, linguistic, and cultural education.

The Consul General also emphasized the importance of bilingual and multicultural education as a fundamental asset for children and young people building their lives in the United States, noting that strengthening their cultural and identity roots is not only essential for their academic development but also a strategic value for their future professional paths.

Escuela CT carries out outstanding work in bilingual, multicultural, and community-based education, open to the entire Spanish-speaking community. As a complementary school, it promotes the Spanish language and supports the education of bicultural children through a curriculum designed by Argentine professionals and educators, in coordination with the United States education system.

From the Consulate General, we continue to support and accompany initiatives that strengthen education, cultural identity, and the Argentine community abroad.
