The Consulate General and Promotion Center of the Argentine Republic in New York welcomed the Governor of Chubut Province, Ignacio Torres, on December 11, 2025, who was accompanied by his delegation and representatives from Puente, an Argentine financial institution, in a visit aimed at strengthening Chubut’s international presence and promoting investment opportunities in strategic sectors.

During his presentation, Governor Torres outlined Chubut’s potential in key sectors such as energy, mining, tourism, fishing, critical infrastructure, data centers, oil & gas, renewable energy, green hydrogen, and rare earths, positioning the province as a strategic hub for both national and international investment. He highlighted the province’s competitive advantages, including connectivity, thermal range, and a favorable legal environment, which make Chubut an attractive destination for investors. He emphasized the importance of the Incentive Regime for Large Investments (RIGI), which offers tax benefits, streamlined procedures, infrastructure support, and technical assistance for strategic projects. In particular, he noted the “Tourism RIGI”, aligned with national policies, which promotes large-scale initiatives, encourages productive diversification, and supports job creation.

The session included a valuable exchange with attending representatives from the business, financial, and investment fund sectors, reaffirming the Consulate General’s role as the Promotion Center of Argentina in New York in supporting Argentine provinces in showcasing their initiatives and establishing strategic connections in the United States.
