On August 6th, the Consulate General and Promotion Center of the Argentine Republic in New York hosted a cultural double event that highlighted Argentine talent and the potential of our creative industries as a key driver of our international outreach.
The evening began with an emotional piano concert performed by the renowned Argentine musician Axel Quincke, who presented a repertoire ranging from universal classics — Bach, Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Scriabin — to his own compositions and interpretations of Piazzolla. With unique sensitivity and masterful execution, Quincke offered a musical journey that fused heritage, innovation, and expressiveness. His presence at the Consulate, as an artist and friend of the house, reaffirms our commitment to promoting Argentine music in all its forms, both traditional and contemporary.
Following this, the exhibition "Where Color Breathes into Immensity" by visual artist Betina Attas was inaugurated, marking her first solo exhibition in New York City. Curated by Josefina Vilela, the show features a series of abstract works inviting a deep sensory experience, inspired by nature and the emotional states it evokes. Attas’s pieces — through their chromatic fields, atmospheric whites, and floating lines — open a space for contemplation and inner dialogue. The exhibition will remain open to the public in our gallery over the coming weeks.
The exhibition will be open throughout August and September at the Consulate General, Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm. We invite you to visit and immerse yourself in this universe of colors and shapes!
Both events were attended by prominent figures from the diplomatic, artistic, academic, and local community spheres, offering a platform for cultural exchange, sensitivities, and creative languages.
This double event is part of the Promotion Center’s strategic program to position art and culture as an integral part of Argentine public diplomacy. We aim to increase the visibility of our artists’ work abroad and strengthen the presence of Argentine cultural industries as a sector with economic, symbolic, and export value.
Music, visual arts, and creativity are living expressions of our national identity and a privileged channel to build bridges with the world.
