Pianist Agustín Muriago has performed throughout the United States, Spain, China, Brazil, and his native Argentina. His repertoire ranges from standard piano works to contemporary music premieres, with an emphasis on Spanish and Latin-American music.
Muriago has presented recitals featuring Latin-American music for the “Argentina Festival” in Hong Kong, the Latin American Cultural Week in New York City, the Sonus International Music Festival, for the Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concert series, and for the Latin American Music Center in Washington, D.C.
He has offered recitals, lectures, and master classes worldwide and he adjudicated the MTNA Young Artist Competition and piano competitions in Texas, Kansas, Missouri, South Dakota, Connecticut, and New York.
In Argentina, Muriago earned degrees in piano performance, piano pedagogy, and composition. As a prizewinner of the 2008 “Teachers del Norte-Pianists del Sur” auditions under the direction of Mirian Conti, he continued his studies in the United States, earning degrees in piano performance from The Hartt School (DMA), New York University (MM), and Rowan University (BM summa cum laude).
Agustín Muriago is Assistant Professor of Keyboard Skills at the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University and a Yamaha Artist.
