Art Opening: Magdalena Murua’s “Invisible Lines”

On November 5, 2025, the Consulate General and Promotion Center of Argentina in New York inaugurated Invisible Lines”, a solo exhibition by Argentine artist Magdalena Murua, celebrating the creativity, innovation, and cultural depth of contemporary Argentine art.

The opening gathered a lively and diverse audience of art enthusiasts, collectors, and members of the local community, who were captivated by the vibrancy and intricacy of Murua’s collages.

Murua’s work transforms fragments of iconic comic books such as Hulk, Batman, and Archie into intricate, abstract compositions that blur the line between geometry and emotion. From a distance, her collages seem to vibrate with optical rhythm; up close, they reveal a delicate interplay of perforated images and color, meticulously arranged yet guided by intuition. Her process combines the precision of invisible structures—golden ratios and subtle symmetries—with the spontaneity of artistic discovery.

By reimagining the comic books that once filled her childhood with wonder, Murua invites viewers to reconnect with a shared sense of playfulness and curiosity. In her hands, familiar fragments shed their original narratives to become vibrant fields where nostalgia, structure, and imagination coexist in harmony.

As art critic Adam Adelson observed, “Murua transforms cultural residue into luminous fields of thought and feeling,” offering a powerful reflection on memory and transformation through visual language.

Through exhibitions like this, our Consulate General and Promotion Center reaffirms its mission to promote Argentine culture abroad and to support the presence of Argentine artists on the international stage.

"Invisible Lines" will remain on view at the Consulate Gallery until January 2026, Mondays to Fridays from 9am to 1pm and 2pm to 5pm.
