The announcement took place during a bilateral forum held at the Consulate General and Promotion Center of Argentina in New York during the High-Level Week of the United Nations General Assembly.

On September 23, 2026, Argentine Foreign Minister Pablo Quirno and U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau launched the Andes–Atlantic Corridor, a joint initiative to strengthen and modernize the infrastructure connecting key sectors of Argentina’s economy with major Atlantic ports and Western markets.

According to the joint statement issued by both governments, the Corridor aims to facilitate long-term public and private investment in transportation, energy, and digital infrastructure. Argentina and the United States seek to strengthen cooperation on railways, waterways, and ports; the development of Vaca Muerta’s energy resources; the mining and processing of critical minerals; and the use of trusted technology.

Two instruments were signed during the forum. Foreign Minister Pablo Quirno and EXIM Chair John Jovanovic signed the U.S.–Argentina Build the Future Framework, which will allow the parties to explore up to USD 7 billion in financing for eligible projects through 2027. EXIM Chief Commercial Officer Sarah Whitten and YPF President and CEO Horacio Marín also signed an EXIM–YPF term sheet related to Argentina LNG, a project for which a potential financing package of up to USD 6 billion is under consideration.

Hosting the forum at the Consulate General and Promotion Center of Argentina in New York reaffirms its role as a venue that brings together government officials, financial institutions, and businesses to promote investment opportunities in Argentina and help turn strategic projects into concrete investments.
