The Consulate General and Promotion Center of the Argentine Republic in New York held the celebration of the “Día Argentino” (Argentine Day) an event that coincided with the end-of-year holiday season and became the Consulate General’s institutional year-end gathering. The initiative aimed to showcase Argentina’s exportable food products and present representative expressions of our national culture to a broad and diverse audience.
The event brought together international consumers, distributors, importers, government authorities, members of the consular corps, representatives of the Society of Foreign Consuls in New York, and numerous friends of Argentina. Key participants who regularly take part in sectoral promotion activities organized by this Consulate throughout the year were also present, helping strengthen commercial ties and reaffirming the role of the Consulate as a Promotion Center for Argentina in all its forms.
The program featured a curated selection of Argentine products, including wines and traditional beverages, beef, alfajores, dulce de leche, and artisanal pastries. With the support of Wines of Argentina, attendees were able to sample wines from Catena Zapata, Luigi Bosca, Tridento, and Caelum, along with products from companies such as Cachafaz, Quilmes, Ice Cream Cones, various Argentine bakeries in the region, and Argentine products distributed by Smart Foods. This allowed guests to experience first-hand the quality and diversity of Argentine production.
The presence of importers, distributors, and international consumers created a valuable opportunity to expand commercial networks and reinforce the perception of excellence associated with Argentine products in the local market. The event combined commercial promotion with a high-level cultural program, featuring a performance by renowned Argentine pianist Rosa Antonelli and a tango show by Analía Carreño and Luis Ramírez, generating an atmosphere that highlighted the identity and cultural prestige of our country.
Overall, our “Día Argentino” contributed to strengthening relationships with strategic partners, promoting Argentina’s exportable offer, and reinforcing the country’s image as a provider of high-quality products and a cultural reference point in New York and throughout the region.
