ARA Libertad Arrives in Boston to Participate in Sail250 Boston

Following her visit to New York, the ARA Libertad arrived in the Port of Boston on July 11, where she will remain through July 16 to participate in Sail250 Boston, the final chapter of the maritime celebrations marking the 250º anniversary of the Independence of the United States.

Upon her arrival, the ship was welcomed by Argentina's Consul General in New York, Gerardo (Gerry) Díaz Bartolomé, and Argentina's Naval Attaché to the United States, Rear Admiral Raúl Osvaldo Chiñi, who greeted the ship's Commanding Officer, Captain Jorge Gabriel Cáceres, and his crew.

During her stay in Boston, the ARA Libertad is carrying out a program of official and institutional activities while also opening her decks to the public and to the Argentine community in the region. As part of the agenda organized in coordination with the Consulate General, a special guided tour was offered to members of the Argentine community, providing an opportunity to experience firsthand the history and traditions of one of Argentina's most enduring national symbols.

The visit also included an official reception aboard the ship, co-hosted by the Consul General and the Commanding Officer, bringing together local authorities, members of the diplomatic and consular corps, representatives of the Armed Forces, leaders of the Argentine community, and distinguished guests.

The Boston port call marks the final stage of the ARA Libertad's visit to the United States, following her participation in Sail4th 250 in New York City. In both ports, the training ship's presence reaffirmed the longstanding friendship between Argentina and the United States, as well as the shared values of freedom, cooperation, and mutual understanding that continue to strengthen the relationship between both nations.

For more than six decades, the ARA Libertad has represented Argentina in ports around the world as the Argentine Navy's training ship and true "Ambassador of the Seas," fostering friendship among nations and strengthening ties with every port she visits.
