The Consulate General and Promotion Center of the Argentine Republic in New York inaugurated Through Layers, a solo exhibition by Argentine artist Alexandra Arata.
The exhibition explores the dialogue between transparency and depth, fragility and strength through compositions built with layers of color, light, and fluid forms. Arata’s works invite viewers into a slower, more contemplative experience, revealing emotions, memories, and identities that gradually emerge beyond the surface.
Inspired by principles of positive psychology, the artist investigates how color and form can influence our inner world, creating subtle experiences of calm, balance, and openness. Her paintings combine an ethereal visual language with a disciplined search for harmony between intuition and structure.
The opening brought together members of New York’s cultural community, artists, art enthusiasts, and friends of Argentina, who had the opportunity to engage with the artist and learn more about the creative process behind her work.
Through Layers is part of the Consulate’s cultural programming aimed at promoting Argentine talent abroad and strengthening cultural ties between Argentina and the United States.
On view June to August at our Consulate, from 10am to 1pm and from 2 to 5pm.
