As part of LAVCA Week 2025, the Consulate General and Promotion Center of the Argentine Republic in New York, together with the Argentine Association of Private, Entrepreneurial, and Seed Capital (ARCAP) and the Argentine Lawyers Association in New York (ALA) organized on October 7, 2025, the event “Investing Beyond Borders: Scaling Companies from Latin America to the World”, which brought together more than 50 leaders from venture capital, private equity, and the Latin American entrepreneurial ecosystem.
The panel included Mariano Mayer (Newtopia VC/ARCAP), Martín Umaran (Globant), Alejo Czerwonko (UBS), and Tomás Manzitti (Intuitivo AI), who discussed strategies for scaling Latin American companies in global markets, highlighting the region’s competitive talent, the impact of generative artificial intelligence, and co-investment opportunities. The discussion also covered internationalization strategies in a changing global context, signals for attracting the interest of investors and acquirers, and key trends such as nearshoring and critical minerals.
Topics addressed included the transformative potential of generative AI and its cross-sector impact, the convergence of traditional industries and technology as a growth driver, the intersection of AI, consumers, and markets, the strategic value of regional talent for attracting investment and scaling globally, immediate opportunities to strengthen regional integration and ecosystem synergies, lessons from Globant, Intuitivo AI, and Newtopia VC on global scaling strategies, different approaches to internationalization in a shifting global landscape, keys to capturing investor and acquirer interest, as well as megatrends such as AI, nearshoring, critical minerals, and the importance of resilience, creativity, and distribution capabilities in the GenAI era.
The event reaffirmed the role of the Consulate General, in its capacity as Argentina’s Promotion Center in New York, as a platform for connectivity and the global positioning of Argentine companies.
