COVID19: TRAVELLING TO ARGENTINA

Through Decree of Necessity and Urgency 381/2021, the prohibition of the entry into the national territory of foreigners not residing in the country is extended until June 25, except for the cases provided for in https://www.argentina.gob.ar/salud/coronavirus/ingresar-egresar-argentin...

The requirements to be fulfilled by those persons authorized to enter the Argentine Republic are the following:

ARGENTINE NATIVES AND FOREIGNERS RESIDING IN THE COUNTRY

1) Complete an Electronic Affidavit available on the Immigration website: https://ddjj.migraciones.gob.ar/app/home.php within 48 hours prior to boarding.

THE CONFIRMATION OF THE AFFIDAVIT MADE IS REQUESTED BY THE AIRLINE AND IS A REQUIREMENT FOR BOARDING THE PLANE. IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THAT THE DECLARATION BE COMPLETED AS FAR IN ADVANCE AS POSSIBLE.

2) PCR diagnostic test 72 hours prior to international travel with a negative result for COVID-19: Exempt from this requirement are kids 6 (six) yeras old and under,  carriers and crew members, connecting passengers (natives and foreigners) that not stay for more than 24hs at the national airport, persons who have presented COVID-19 in the 90 days prior to entering the country, and those who cannot perform the PCR test at origin for a duly justified cause, in which case they must have a medical certification that they do not have symptoms compatible with COVID-19.

3) All travelers must take a SARS-CoV-2 test upon arrival in the country and another test on the seventh day of entry as a condition for completion of the mandatory isolation.  Those who test positive will have to take a PCR test, and both the person and his/her close contacts will have to comply with the isolation in the places provided by the competent local authorities, until it is safe to transfer them to their place of residence.

FOREIGNERS WITH DIRECT RELATIVES OF ARGENTINE NATIONALITY AND RESIDENTS IN THE COUNTRY

The following requirements apply to direct relatives of Argentineans or foreign residents in Argentina, provided that they are to stay temporarily in the country for family visits, and they are nationals of countries that do not normally require a visa to enter the Republic. Please note that the National Direction of Migration will charge the foreigner who takes advantage of this possibility a migration fee of 9,000 pesos (Decree No. 865/19 article 1 paragraph m).

The steps are:

a) Submit to the airline a birth, marriage or cohabitation certificate, duly apostilled or legalized, proving the direct link with an Argentine citizen, a copy of the Argentine ID card of the family member and a ticket reservation. If the document was issued in the United States and requires the Hague Apostille, please contact the office of the State where the document was originated. (Where to get the Apostille in our Consular Jurisdiction?) It is recommended that you consult the time frame for the apostille process since in times of pandemic, some States take days or weeks to issue the Apostille.

b) PCR diagnostic test 72 hours prior to international travel with a negative result for COVID-19: Exempt from this requirement are kids 6 (six) years old and under, carriers and crew members, connecting passengers (natives and foreigners) that not stay for more than 24 hs. at national airports, and persons who have presented COVID-19 in the 90 days prior to entering Argentina, confirmed by lab, proving results of tests for SARS-CoV-2, with a medical discharge after ten (10) days of the diagnostic.

c) Within 48 hours prior to boarding, complete the Electronic Affidavit (https://ddjj.migraciones.gob.ar/app/home.php), where you must attach traveler's medical insurance and PCR diagnostic test performed 72 hours prior to international travel with negative result for COVID-19. THE CONFIRMATION OF THE AFFIDAVIT MADE IS REQUESTED BY THE AIRLINE AND IT IS A REQUIREMENT FOR BOARDING THE PLANE. IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THAT THE DECLARATION BE COMPLETED AS FAR IN ADVANCE AS POSSIBLE.

d) Present negative physical PCR and physical Covid-19 medical insurance at the time of boarding, otherwise you will not be able to board the flight.

e) All travelers must take a SARS-CoV-2 test upon arrival in the country and another test on the seventh day of entry as a condition for completion of the mandatory isolation.  Those who test positive will have to take a PCR test, and both the person and his/her close contacts will have to comply with the isolation in the places provided by the competent local authorities, until it is safe to transfer them to their place of residence.

g) Submit a note of application to the airline explaining briefly the need for the visit, dates of departure and return, and the place where you will be staying.
